Flood Monitoring for Utilities

Case Study Highlights

Good flood monitoring system can prevent serious damages to people, country economic and environment. However, there are many challenges to implement such applications. A good system must be able to:

  • Operate in wide coverage, over large, scatter, deserted country area

  • Operate with no availability of power source, and solar panel is not appropriate at sites
  • Operate without phone line, and direct cabling is not possible.
  • Ease to maintain, especially at river sides, forest, highway, rural area etc.
  • Ease to install and must be vandalism proof
  • Operate at minimum running cost. such as data plan.
